Field Trips and Education
Atwood Family Farm seeks to educate our community and especially our children about where our food comes from as well as good agricultural practices that allow us to maintain a safe and abundant food supply. We believe it is important to be good stewards of our resources.
During the springtime, we offer field trip experiences for all ages that include berry wagon farm tours through our conventional and organic fields while also looking at the different wildlife habitats on our property. There are opportunities to view bees up close and personal with our observation hive. Of course students also have the opportunity to taste different types of honey and pick delicious Florida blueberries. For elementary students we also have a playground to burn off some energy. Students can enjoy a picnic lunch at the picnic tables under our large shaded pole barn We have an elementary/early childhood educator as well as a secondary science teacher on staff to ensure that our field trips are developmentally appropriate for all age groups.
